While no reason was given, Wyclef Jean was presumably denied a bid to run because he did not meet the country’s residency requirements because he has not lived in the country for five consecutive years.

The rapper can appeal the ruling, although there is no higher governing body in the country other than the CEP.

The AFP reports that the rapper recorded a message in Creole and distributed it to the Haitian media.

“They violated the constitution to benefit their families and their friends who continue to live off the people’s money,” Jean charged in the message. “Are you going to continue to support people who do not respect the fundamental law of the country?”

According to Wyclef, he was appointed a roving ambassador by outgoing President Rene Preval in 2007, a position which allowed him to work and live outside of Haiti.

Despite the official status, the CEP barred Jean and 15 others from running in the race, which will choose a new President on November 28th.

“I am going to continue to fly the flag of Haiti,” Wyclef promised in the message.

Representatives for Michel’le confirmed that Michel’le is planning to release an album of new material in 2011.

Despite the lack of physical releases over the years, the singer has stayed busy working throughout the past 21-years, since the release of her self-titled debut for Eazy-E’s Ruthless Records.

Michel’le Toussaint launched her career as the backing vocalist on the World Class Wreckin’ Cru’s smash hit single “Turn Off the Lights.”

She also hit big with her 1989 debut, which yielded hit singles like “No Nore Lies,” “Nicety” and “Keep Watchin’” and the ballad “Something in My Heart,” all considered Hip-Hop classics, produced by Dr. Dre.

Michel’le’s recording career detoured around the release of her sophomore album Hung Jury (1998), which was released on Death Row Records almost 10 years after her debut recording.

Michel’le has a son by Dr. Dre and a daughter by Marion “Suge” Knight.

Wyclef’s team of lawyers will appear in court in today (August 23rd) to try and have the decision overturned which disqualified him from the race, on the basis of his lack of citizenship in the country, although a reason was not cited.

The law claims that a person must have residency in Haiti for five consecutive years.

The rapper will claim that he meets all residency requirements, since outgoing President Rene Preval appointed him as roving ambassador in 2007, allowing him to travel and live outside of Haiti.

“Our Lawyers are appealing the decision of the CEP,” Wyclef Jean tweeted. “We have met all the requirements set by the laws. And the law must be Respected.”

According to the New York Times, the decision could further delay the election process, as there is currently no legal mechanism for contesting an election eligibility decision.

“I will be seeking a solution through legal channels, and I urge my countrymen to be patient,” Wyclef said in a statement.

The two artists will host the concerts to support the launch of Live Nation Australia, which opened this past July and his headed up by Luke Hede and veteran promoter Roger Field.

The tour will kick off at Auckland’s Mount Smart Stadium on November 25th and make stops in Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney.

The final performance will take place at Perth’s Subiaco Oval and mark’s the first time U2 has played in Perth since 1998.

According to Billboard, tickets will be priced at $39.90 and that almost 45% of the tickets will be priced under $100.

The tour combines two of Live Nation’s most lucrative acts.

Jay-Z was recently named Hip-Hop top earner for 2009-2010 with $63 million earned, while U2′s 2009 world tour earned the band $300 million.

Tickets to all concerts will go on sale September 3rd.

Over 25,000 fans gathered at Guerrilla Union’s annual show, which took place from 12PM-12AM.

The following evening (August 22nd) the tour landed at the Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View.

A number of top rappers performed their entire debut albums for the crowd.

Snoop Dogg performed Doggystyle, Slick Rick performed The Great Adventures Of Slick Rick, A Tribe Called Quest did Midnight Marauders, KRS-One performed Criminal Minded and Wu-Tang performed Enter The 36 Chambers.

Fans also caught performances by Immortal Technique, Wiz Khalifa, Brother Ali and others.

Lauryn Hill drew attention on both shows over the weekend.

On Saturday, Hill was criticized for a sloppy performance.

On Sunday, she was an hour late for the show, but that night’s performance is drawing positive reviews.

Over 20 acts performed over the weekend to over a combined crowd over about 50,000 people.

According to local police, there were no issues during either of the weekend events, although massive traffic jams forced the Best in the West Racing to cancel their stock car races on Saturday night at Orange Show Speedway.

On August 28th, the 7th Annual Rock The Bells tour will hit Governors Island.

The tour will wrap in in Washington D.C. at the Merriweather Post Pavilion on August 29th.

The rapper, born Shad Gregory Moss, has landed a role in the upcoming Tyler Perryfilm Madea’s Big Happy Family.

Kanye, who tweeted the announcement Sunday night (August 22nd), stressed the importance of giving back to the fans.

He also let the fans know how hard he has been working to ensure that his label, G.O.O.D Music, puts out a quality product.

“I know y’all need the music so I’m dropping 1 new song every weekend until Xmas. It may be my song, it may be a new Jay song, etc,” Kanye tweeted.

A minute later the Chicago based MC/Producer coined the impromptu releases as “Good Fridays”.

“I’m calling it good Fridays. Yall know every Friday yall gone have a new joint from our family. We look at the game completely different now,” Mr. West added. “It’s about the fans. No more holding back. That’s why I dropped see me now… It wasn’t about me it was about the Summer the BBQs etc.”

Kanye then talked about what he’s been working on as of late and let the fans know about his dedication to his music and the art he creates.

He is working on projects for Pusha T, Raekwon, Mos Def, Swizz Beatz and Pharrell Williams.

Game revealed that the new mixtape is meant to hold fans over while he finishes up his official fourth album, The R.E.D. Album.

“Every beat on the BRAKE LIGHTS mixtape is produced by @coolanddre & hosted by @djskee. This tape is serious, better than most n***as albums,” Game tweeted.

The first single off of the mixtape is titled “M.I.A,” according to Game.

The mixtapes were part of Game’s marketing plan for the album, although the release is meant to pacific fans who have been waiting for The R.E.D. Album, despite several delays in putting the record out.

Game told AllHipHop.com that he was planning four titles, including R.E.D. October, Red Tape, Paint The Town RED and The Redprint.

No official release date is available for Brake Lights.
